Create a backup: We’ll create a backup of your existing site; files, images, theme, plugins, and database.

Temp space: Create a temporary hosting environment on the new server.

Update DNS to point to new servers: Once I have access to your domain provider, we will update the DNS settings so that the domain points to our servers instead of your existing hosting provider. Note: This step can take anywhere from 1-48 hours! But, it’s usually about an hour. During this period, I will check in periodically to see when the domain has fully propagated. Once it has, it will revert the website to a blank website. The second we see that, we can log into the new backend and migrate the files and database, and then the site will be fully functioning and back to normal. This will successfully move your site to our servers and no longer with your old hosting servers.

Cancel old hosting: I typically like to give it a month or so to make sure everything is operating smoothly. After approx. a month, you can go ahead and cancel your old hosting account (assuming there aren’t any other websites in there).
